Carolina Blue

Jesse Helms just rolled over in his grave.

For the first time in my life, I now find myself living in a blue state. Man, does that feel good.

On top of that, we defeated Elizabeth Dole (who held Helms' old Senate seat) and also elected our first female Governor.

Well done, fellow Tarheels. Now that we've turned this state blue, let's keep it that way.

O, Happy Day!

Man, I was completely unprepared for how overwhelming this would feel. And as a myriad of emotions surges through my body, one of them rises above all the others.

Unadulterated joy.

As you can probably tell from my choice of blog colors, I am a huge Carolina basketball fan. The season kicks off tonight at 7:00. We're starting the season ranked #1, but it's not how you start it's how you finish.

Some Things I Know And Some Things I Don't.

One thing I do know is where the title of this blog comes from. It's a lyric from the Bob Dylan song 'It's Alright, Ma (I'm Only Bleeding)'.

"He not busy being born is busy dying."

That's one of my favorite quotes of all time and it sums up the way that I try to live my life.

One thing I don't know is why I'm starting a blog in the first place. Do I really feel like I have any signal to offer up amongst all the other noise out there? Do I really think anyone is going to read this thing anyway?
